Beginning of Year Book

As I was browsing on my new favorite website Pinterest, I found this cute idea about a beginning of year class book made by the kiddos.  Last year my class made 10 class books. They ranged in topics from best experiences, to holiday favorites, main ideas about stories we were reading, to a super cute rhyming book we made on Dr. Seuss birthday!   They loved reading them throughout the year and showing off the pages they created.
My intent was to make enough books so that everyone could take one home at the end of the year.  Sadly, we did not make quite enough, so this year it is my goal to make 22 of them! Starting with the beginning of the year!
I have uploaded a copy of the book tempate without my name on it so you could easily print it off and add your name to it.  Enjoy!

  1. Thank you Jaymee! I have seen some teachers dismantle all of their class books at the end of the year and then give each child back their own pages. But like you, I like to keep each book together.

  6. Thanks for the book. I also make enough for each kiddo to take home one book at the end of the year. I even have a few of the 5th graders bring in their books to share at the beginning of the year. This always makes the kids so excited to see that they too will have their own book from first grade. And I just want to cry every time I hear the 5th graders talk about their time in our class and that they kept their book all these years:)
